the dentist is looming

Such an arb thing to write about but - "Oh my gosh I need to go to the dentist soon!" and this is definitely not a good thing, I have never enjoyed seeing dentists... ever.. like EVER. Anyway, while I procrastinate a bit longer, I have decided it may be a good idea to *gulps* (I can't believe I'm saying this!) cut out sugar *cringe* I was being quite good and cutting down from 2 teaspoons to a mere half in my coffee... but I'm not sure it's enough. So I'm doing it, starting now, no more adding sugar to things. Wish me luck! I am definitely going to need it!

Wahooo! England in July!!! I can't wait! (well I mean I have to, but I don't want to!!!)

AND don't you hate it when you love a song, and you hear it on the radio... then another 6 times the same day and start not liking it? It makes me so sad!

something crazy cool

I'm elated! 22 July 2010 is the date of departure, then "hello England" *kisses the queen*

I cannot wait to catch up with old friends and mostly my family, I miss them all so much! It's going to be such a great experience, especially airports with dad *giggles*

That's it for today - my mind can't think of anything else at the moment!

traffic lights become 4-way chaos

I know I know, such a contradiction to my post last week about changing attitude but I really need to vent a little bit *winks*

Situation 1
: Yesterday afternoon, while driving home from work in peak traffic, I discovered one of the sets of traffic lights out of action. BUT luckily a happy little traffic cop was there seeing that fantastic flow was maintained - no issues there... until *dum dum DUMMMMM*

Situation 2
: This morning on the way to work, in peak traffic, the damn lights are still out of action... and to my grumpy-morning-persona's disgust, no happy little traffic cop *sheds a tear*

Okay just to clarify, when we do our drivers license, we all do theory right? So if your hands are on a steering wheel, that is attached to a car, that is on a road, with a running engine, moving in a forwards motion (aka driving!) - you should know what to do when all the lights at an intersection are flashing red? WRONG! Clearly not if you are in South Africa. Do you have any idea what maniacs are on these roads? One car at a time in a clockwise direction is not rocket science... but the only way I can describe this morning is the stuff nightmares are made of *cringe* If anyone is going to drive anything, from a mini to a truck, they should know how to drive like the intelligent person they were intended to be.

*GRRRRRRRRR* Right, I shall now proceed to take deep breaths, and with every exhale I shall send happy positive thoughts to the people who can't drive for shizniz. *laughs*

oh my wuzna!

I love that exclamation *winks* takes me back to innocence and darling friends lost to better places...

Today I am literally just rambling, I've been a bit busy at work but not with work as such - lucky me!

I tried to sew a cell phone pouch... pretty crazy, seeing as I'm still not sure how a sewing machine works! It came out okay looking though so I can add that to my resume haha!

My fantastic dad popped into work today as well to say hi and fetch something... I've realised he is quite the artist, he's got such a great knack for perspective drawing. I think I'm going to have to ask him to give me loads of tips as its something I really want to be able to do, it just adds so much dimension to art *winks* you see what I did there haha!

Got a call from a special friend today, she is such a darling - she told me about re landscaping her future mom-in-laws garden... sounds like so much fun! I need to hurry and do my mums, but she has to get her royal behind out the country first so she can't interfere *winks* [yes mum I know you are reading this - what can I say - the result will have to be a surprise!]

weekend antics!

Oh wow oh wow oh wow! I honestly never thought that heat+sand+close range combat+excruciating pain=exhilaration [see nice battle wound in the pic] *smiles* No really - it was totally amazing! I've only played paintball once before yesterday but I didn't have the honor of getting shot. So yesterday was a fear-facer... It's one thing to have trees or buildings to hide behind... but to have someone stand 15m in front of you with a marker aimed at your head and knowing you just have to stand there and take it, lets just say its cured my fear of being hit. [Secretly I think you have to get hit for playing the game to count - it means you're putting yourself out there!] So I can honestly say, I've found something I enjoy doing *checks it off the list* just remember I didn't say I was any good!

And on a totally different subject - I'm sketching! I think I'll give myself 10 points for that, just because I'm not procrastinating *giggles* I've bought a sketchbook and some pencils and I'm trying to teach myself how to sketch different facial expressions based on anime. It's going well I think, now just practice practice practice!
